Freedom
A Poem by a_methyste
He craves her freedom.
The skies!
The oceans!
Like drops of water!
She smells like iodine.
He craves her freedom.
The skies!
The oceans!
Like drops of water!
She smells like iodine.

Definitely, another mysterious one.
Well, in this one; you refer to someone who craves the freedom of a woman. So, who are this man and woman..?
Iodine can be an effective antiseptic, amongst other uses. But, why is the woman in this piece; scented as iodine to the man.?
This poem raises more questions, but gives no answers. The protagonists are both anonymous to your readership, so they are meaningless to your readership.
Of course, the woman in this piece could be a representation of freedom; so that could really be what the man craves - his freedom. And yet, she is also portrayed as smelling of iodine. Occasionally, freedom can be a "bitter pill to swallow"; as they say. But, there is no reason suggested in this mysterious poem; to explain why the man associates the supposed smell of iodine - either with the woman or freedom....
