Sadly that is the way many that are poor feel but truthfully one can shine even when poor... I can think of many that felt bright (like a star) inside and that shine stayed with them...poor or not..
There are alway going to be mean kids...bullys...

I always wonder if kids look back at their cruel behavior and regret any of it. With age comes maturity, but even adults can be cruel as you've mentioned below. I know, I've been there.
