The pain felt by the parents should burden the heart of his/her child?

Chapter II: The Second Generation

 

Charisse was on her room reminiscing the past she experience. She cried so much and she was very tired of it. She was keeping the feelings she had inside her heart for so long and the day she cannot avoid the date when their promises to each other was promised. “I promised to you that from this day on, I will give my everything for you even my last breathe is for you and for the children you will bear and only death can only separate us. Slave me if you want but this promise will remain forever,” Charisse can still remember everything and this was the reason why she cannot just let go of the yesterday.

 

Conversely, Griselda was also crying, she remembered all the pain she marrying Jordan just for saving her father’s company which eventually fell in the hands of the evil man. She can compare the nights on a chain of raping but in the end, she has no strengths to fight because she knows that she might regret it in the end because she will never see her children again.

 

After several months, Clarisse went home with many gifts for her niece. Janice did not receive any. She was too shy to ask. “Is this too much? You should just give it to your daughter, Janice,” Charisse said to her sister. “Why should I give these to her? This is intended for Erika so do not reject it,” her sister replied. Charisse then stood up and felt something wrong with her tummy. Her face looks awfully and it was seen by her sister, “Is there something wrong? Will you already give birth?” Clarisse was really afraid and was going to panic but thanks to Erika who was on the phone playing it. Because of that, Clarisse’s mind was cleared and went to the phone to call an ambulance.

 

On the other hand, Griselda slipped of the stairs and fell down a little bit. Everyone was in panic and immediately called an ambulance. When Jordan knew about it, instead of being worried, he was angry to his wife because she might not bear to his children nicely.

 

It seems to be fate when they called the same hospital and was brought at the same hour. Clarisse found out that her sister was already on labor a day ago. While Griselda was on the operating room, she remembered how her husband treated her so bad since he found out that she is having an affair with another man. Since Griselda was used to save her father’s company, she was forced to marry a man whom he doesn’t love. She had two sons with Jordan, Nathan and Emanuel. Griselda, on the other hand, bear a child with her other man. On the day Griselda is giving birth, Jordan knew the truth that he was not the father as the other man confessed the truth and asked him to let go of Griselda. Jordan decided to kill the child on Griselda’s womb so he paid the doctors. Griselda didn’t receive any news from the other man after she knew that her child died until her husband, Jordan, told her that he killed the man whom Griselda loves.

 

Who could have thought that fate might be on their sides because Charisse and Griselda are scheduled to bear twins? After some time, Charisse gave birth to a fraternal twin and does have different genders. She then named them, Melissa and Rome. On the other hand, Clarisse saw Jordan on the corridors and she almost cannot keep her emotions and she have wanted to kill that person immediately but she always think that if she will kill that person, she will be no different to the likes of that person. She accidentally heard the conversation of the doctor and of the said person he hated so much because he is the responsible for the death of her sister’s husband. What she heard was something shocking and she thought of doing something to revenge.

 

After an hour, Jordan went to his wife and was about to tell something. His wife was trying to find her babies but Jordan was not answering her. Jordan then said, “One of your babies died because of the accident. Your living child is currently in the incubator right now and the doctor said that you cannot bear another child again.”

 

Griselda was shocked on what she has heard. She was so depressed to what happened but she think it as a good way since her husband cannot produce another flesh of him into her body. She named her child Julie.

 

After some days, Clarisse’s plan was done efficiently and nobody suspected her from doing it. After some days again, they went back to the house. Clarisse noticed that her sister was thinking so deeply. Days passed like leaves falling down. Both of the family lived like nothing happened before but destiny would always control their lives because after four years, Charisse saw the couple she had hated very much, Jordan and Griselda.

 

On that day, her temper once again reined her mind. She was with Erika, who is currently six years old, when she followed Jordan all over the night. “Erika, stay here for a while. Mother just need to talk to somebody,” Charisse said to her daughter.

 

“How are you, Mr. Killer?” Charisse opened the discussion with such a harming greeting. “Can you still remember me? I am the wife of the person you asked to kill five years ago. Can you remember the Palma family?” She added.

 

“What are you doing here?” Jordan responded with a disgusted face and Griselda replied, “Relax, Mr. Killer. I know something that can put your company into pieces. It is aside from the secret known by my late husband. I know a secret you don’t know and I believe that this would be important to you.”

 

“What do you mean?” Jordan replied while he was holding something from his pocket located on the jacket he is wearing. “I hold a thing that is destined to kill your dreams for your future and I would never tell it to you until the day comes that you would kneel on me and ask for forgiveness. But don’t worry because if you would confess the truth to the police right now, I can tell to you the truth.” Griselda answered Jordan’s question with such tricky words.

 

Jordan doesn’t believe on Charisse but he was afraid that this person might know the secret that caused the death of her husband so he grabbed the gun from his pocket and pointed it onto Charisse’s head.

 

“I can’t believe that you can do this but frankly, if you will kill me tonight. You might never know this. Try to continue it and this secret would never be revealed,” Charisse was over confident about these thoughts and never thought that Jordan is not joking.

 

Meanwhile, Erika was bored and was trying to find her mother. She saw her mother with a guy and she heard a sound which was very unfamiliar to her. The last thing she saw is that her mother was falling down. Conversely, Jordan told to the body of Charisse, “Do you think I will believe on you? What a foolishness!”

 

He didn’t saw Erika at all but the little girl remembered the face of the guy and she would never ever forget it. After some time, she saw men carrying the body of her mother. Erika was a smart girl so she decided not to make any noise and went to the police station all by herself. On the next morning, the depressed sister of Charisse fetched Erika and said, “I have something to tell to you.” Erika then replied, “I know it already. Auntie, I have something to tell to you at home.”

 

Clarisse, Erika’s aunt, was very surprised on what she has heard because Erika was acting really mature for her age. When they got home, Erika said, “A bad guy did it to mother. They were like on the television. Mother is the protagonist and…” She then pointed to the television where Jordan’s picture is currently flashed and she said, “that is the evil guy.” Erika’s face was indescribable. It seems Erika is really a smart girl and even told that they should just wait for the right time because anything might happen. Clarisse cannot explain it but something pushed her to call the children of her late sister and told what happened to their father and mother’s death and anger grew on them.

 

After a month and the funeral process, Clarisse widened her business to accommodate the tuition fees of the children and as well as her own child, Janice. Even though Janice was jealous to her cousins because her mother gave more much attention on them than her, she never planted a feeling to hate her cousins but instead, she was really annoyed to her mother.

 

Thirteen years later, the wound was not yet departed from their hearts and it was still fresh. Because of such hatred, Erika persevered very much and believed that she could only hold the truth if she would be a lawyer. She is currently studying as a Political Science third year student on the most popular university on their country. She wants to destroy Jordan Tan using the law and this became an inspiration for all the scholarships she received. Even though Erika was really beautiful and had a fair and flawless skin with brown eyes, she didn’t have any boyfriend and focused herself on her aims.

 

On the other hand, Rome Palma, Erika’s brother, is a freshmen student on the same school where her sister is enrolled. He wanted to pursue Journalism and promised to himself that he would make investigations about Jordan and write it on the newspaper to publish the truth and destroy Jordan’s name on the public. Rome was a heartthrob on the high school he attended so it not impossible that he would also be on the university. Even he is handsome, he doesn’t use this and instead, he is a one woman man but he is always afraid to show his feelings.

 

Melissa Palma, the sister of Erika, is also a freshman but she was not studying on the school where her siblings is doing good because she was not smart. She was taking up nursing and had no plans for revenge because she believes that justice is only for the rich. Though Erika is working hard, Melissa is secretly working as a prostitute because she doesn’t want to be a person who would always depend.

 

Janice has the same age of Erika and was pursuing Business Administration on the university where Erika was excelling. She had always wanted to be a part of her own family but since she was not able to be a scholar, it looked that Erika and Rome were the good fruits of their family and she was on the side together with Melissa.

 

Erika was watching the television when she saw a familiar person. It was Jordan Tan. Her feelings ignited again and she kept a promise to herself, “Jordan Tan. Someday you will pay for the crimes you had committed and once day, you would kneel on my front and ask for forgiveness. You better get ready for your tears because you will surely fall. I would do everything to put you in despair and to the point you would think of suicide.”

 

On the other hand, Rome was attending the opening ceremony of his new school when he saw a very beautiful girl. He suddenly struck by first love at first sight and it was actually fate when the two of them are block mates. Their professor checked the attendance and he found out that the girl’s name was Julie Tan. The first thing that came into his mind was the girl’s surname, Tan, and he said to his self, “I think I was just too paranoid. Many people have a surname Tan. In fact, it is a common family name for Chinese.”
