TEXTILE LOVERS
A Poem by
Art Freeman
...when misery needs company...
we have a
common strand
among us
subtle
it bands us
to each other
a fabric
mingled with
tragic seams
quilted
under covers
patches of
satin
soothing
hopeless dreams
hand stitched
patterns
dangle free
from satchels
torn asunder
we have a
a comforter
without cushions
a tapestry
tampered
yet so pristine
a thread
fashioned
to teach
us the
distant lovers
of a
not so
simple life
it seems
.......

My wife is a seamstress. She can see life with a different view. I have travel to Africa and the Middle East. I have seen the real artist create with thread masterpieces. I like this poem. Remind me of wife and art. Sometime if we look with a open mind. Beauty can be in all things. A excellent poem.
