I'm blind

I'm blind

A Poem by aWriter
"

can't see

"

My vision is blurry.  I keep blinking.

It doesn't seem to help make things clear.

I cannot focus and I keep squinting.

I taught myself to not see but to hear.

My eyes hurt and they are tired.

I strained them and they are watering up.

My memory is not great and I start to forget what I use to see,

bloodshot and all I think is red.

I see fire and I see light but then it becomes smokey and late at night.

I grow tired of looking, never able to see,

I fall a sleep after a while, eyes tired as can be.

You think it's nonsense or maybe you can relate,

fire symbolizes rage and smoke spreading like hate.

Light overcome by night,

red bloodshot eyes remind me of when things weren't right.

So close your eyes,

Go to sleep and when you wake all will be healed,

promises made not broken and something new still tightly sealed.

Start it over because you know you can, all you need is rest.

A Good night, I'm your biggest fan,

after all it's just a test.
