Inversion

Inversion

A Poem by Ramsha Ghofran

Once when an angel stumbled upon my door he gave me a token,
And told me the story of  what friendship was,
that if a person's lens are broken,
you break your's just to see what they see.
Real times show you real people with fake smiles,
This world is a canvas painted black but they forget it ain't a colour,
It's become an absence of feelings nurtured in the lap of sterotypes.
Mother, you tell me to tell you things but why wont you listen to my cries?
Once an angle gave me a toke,
And I told him what love was,
He told me I was wrong and then began to tell our story,
Held my hand tight and said we'd make it.
Once when I was a little girl,
I hoped to have faith but just finding faith would've been enough
 Just faith in this world.
And a smile would've been enough.
It's always the thing that wasn't said or done
