Jelly Legs

Jelly Legs

A Poem by _mal

If I could
be something you wanted
I would
change
how much longer can I sleep through these days
chasing your face in my dreams
waiting for nothing
hoping for anything
praying for someone
to come shine the light in my eyes
wake me from this slumber
remind me I’m blind
and you’ve seen how misshapen I am
take my hand
I’ve been waiting
for your fist all day
And it’s all right. I’m ok

your work has a penetrating voice. it shares an experience that punches the reader in the gut and says, "all's not right with the world"

. oh, this is so, so, so beautiful ... it's as if someone was writing about me ... you "shine the light in my eyes" each time you write ... you're my hero ...

Very beautiful poem. Your words conveyed that comfort with that special someone, the acceptance that can come from that connection, perfectly. It will give hope to outcasts who don't have that, and make the people who do smile with the reaffirmation. Great work, as always!
