We are climbing frames
skyscrapers, dormant lumps under the blanket for you
to clamber up and
topple from
proudly pronounce
DA
DA DA! When one tired eye
cracks open and crinkles at the corners
smile hidden in the duvet
as yours beams full force so close and I
bury my face between shoulder blades
as one long arm emerges ahead to sweep
you wriggling
under the covers
and your grinning face pops up above me
so ready
for me to help
excitedly greet the coming day
little legs kicking to propel you back over dads
softly snoring form. 6am
