The Open PrisonA Poem by Josh CarrascoThe description of fear
Within the darkness of lies
The world swings its many blades In a never ending cycle of hypocracy Accusing what it corrupts With outward blamed wounds It creates its monsters By looking deep within The mirror of regret The moment of self-deceit Locks the chains of fear As it blindly rejects The deliverance it seeks In the surrendering pursuit Of the demon masked with redemption It endeavors to escape what has passed Yet not its open prison
