Greed

Greed

A Poem by _BATDOG_
"

Self-explanatory

"
Greed:
It costs to give
But to take is free
The only price, your mere morality
But who needs a soul when gold can buy it all?
Who needs emotion?
What a silly notion
I'd rather have grand palaces and riches and live like a king
Than have the ridiculous thing called beauty within
And no matter how much time passes, it seems people will still not learn,
I'd rather earn and earn, because that is for what I yearn,
But as the years tick by, and years of a cycle going on repeatedly
I realize I will never be able to wash away a life lived meaninglessly.

That's absolutely right, "never be able to wash away a life lived meaninglessly" Such strong words. Greed is a waste, when you're on your deathbed, what's it all going to matter? Nothing. Thanks for sharing!
