Again Today

Again Today

A Poem by Zyria

Alone again today
I am
looking out the window,
watching my breath fog up the glass,
hoping someone can see me,
an existence that might last.
I am
living inside my head,
hiding behind a mask
I see people passing
living, laughing
and I am
staying behind these bars,
hiding in this cage,
alone again today.
All my dreams are on paper
and I watch,
consumed in the flame.
Nothing to hold on to,
there is no turning back,
I am
holding on to nothing
as everything fades to black.

This got better and better as the lines moved on. I'm gonna add this to my library...and im very fussy with what i add. It started off extremely well and progression was expertly done. But the last 5 lines were spot on....especially after the lead up. Great write.

This was such an intense write. I thought that it was amazing how much emotion you poured into this, and the way in which you fed the reader with more and more information as the poem progressed. I loved the structure of this piece, and I thought that the pace of this poem was perfect. To me, the title seemed a little off; perhaps it should be 'Alone Again' as opposed to 'Again Today'? Other than that, this was a really heartfelt, powerful write! Nice work,

I like to think that I am a writer. I abide by my own guidelines, and I don't write to create; I write for release. I think I may be crazy. My mind is not fractured…but perhaps there is jus.. more..
