Eternal Queen of LiesA Poem by TogetherAgainBeneath the veil is a world of lies.
The paintbrush laps upon my heart
Colourful canvas slowly rips Painted in monochrome lies And as I show you the end The beginning rewinds In this endless illusion, is this also a lie? This moment is not the beginning Nor is it the end If I were an eternal queen Would you serve forever? Become a painted lie Brushed on this canvas Can't you hear the ticking in my chest? Come closer, these thorns can't hurt you Eternal queen I am, though hidden In my chest lies the beating heart When the ticking clock stops My world will soon end Canvas void of colour, only black and white This is not the beginning If I were an eternal queen Then could this be the end? You, my precious servant Come closer, these thorns can't hurt you Dripping in darkness, drying in white The last trace of colour slowly dissolves And the monochrome world becomes all that is known The paintbrush laps at my heart Painted in all your lies Come, my servant, save the queen From this eternal fantasy © 2011 TogetherAgain |
