These I Have LovedA Poem by Zune
It is these things I have loved, These things that somehow had been forgotten. Each glance at the heavens, up to a starry night. When silence is the loudest sound. The looming of the Bridger Mountains, so clear that you’d
think you could touch them. Whispering winds, playing through the limbs of the aspens as
if they were strings of a mandolin. Orange and white cat hairs covering all of my clothes. Staring out at the cold, next to the fireplace. Those fifteen minutes spent during dinner, when I get the
chance to talk to my parents for the first time in the day. The sweet, milky sent of the man that I love. My best friends laugh as I manage to trip up the stairs. The warmth and slight weight of my cats as they lay upon my
feet. The heartbeat of my dog as she lays next to me. It is these things I have loved, These things that I thought were forgotten, That remind me who and what I am. It is these things that I love, These things that I remember, That I am thankful for most of all. © 2013 Zune |
