DUSK

DUSK

A Poem by zubia

Here comes the riegn of dark,
Peaceful and quiet after a noisy day;
Yet it brings sounds more clear,
Beautiful in a peculiar way.

The fourth adhaan of the daytime,
escorted by the humming which comes
from the dancing wings of cicadas.

The tapping sound of dusty shoes,
of a few young men who just walked,
with a victory or a lesson from a battleground.

The damping sound of a vehicle,
that just rode down the street,
carrying the tale of a tiring day.

The rustling of leaves
or an apple falling.
The sound of engines,
or the masjid calling.
The footfalls of fed cattle,
or of the hungry shepherds.
The harvest that brings joy,
or the farmer's efforts.
Each sound it brings,
from swish to a thunder,

Yet how quiet the dusk is,
I wonder!

Ah! What a refreshing poem. I loved the imagery and the tone of this poem. There is delicacy and beauty in the words you choose to weave a poem. Very good thoughts and I could imagine the poem as I read. Please send me read request for your future works as I don't want to miss any.
In the second and last second line it should be 'quiet' not quite.
