Caprice

Caprice

A Poem by Zorrin86

Like smoking hashish in a chimney

To spite the preferiti,

The elect elected a man

Convinced of an ultimate treachery

To stand witness and pardon

The most unpardonable absurdity.

In an ironical profusion

Of the knighted night's heresy,

The hexen fires

Burn with an unbridled intensity,

Where senators sit with their mistresses

And contemplate the inexpressible,

Breathing the vapors and incantations

Of conjured spirit's gifts hospitable.

In an orchid of ocher

There exists such an establishment

That gives artists new hunger,

Freshly liberated from banishment,

Where trees are planted in Autumn

To entreat the star's pageantry,

Like a subtle psychologist disrobing

A narcissist with appeals to her vanity
