Stirred Crazy

Stirred Crazy

A Poem by Zorrin86

When two lovers bask in the warmth of a hair dryer

Then you'll know where love truly stands,

Not long ago love was just a fairy tale

An occasional shudder from the Minotaur's glance,

For things to be easier there would need to be more seductive streams

To jam a spear into and declare that there shall be no more pain

In this land of cracked mirrors and fragmented lives.

Only, most of these lakes are like sirens

That respond only to certain stimuli,

Even more of them are for sale

At prices that would make King Midas blush,

A simple word is all that's required

To stoke the flames and rattle the obscene,

Like Ariadne sullen on the shore

Half mad, watching the ship of Theseus sail away,

To truly taste loss you must first hurl yourself against something

For only brave souls make a dent in this crazy world,

Everything else is merely subordinate

Shimmering clutter for open casket funerals.
