Envy

Envy

A Poem by ASandyRabbit

Envy the cruel-spirited,
The mean-thinking spirit
You send my heart aflutter
And I cannot see others’ troubles

I wish, I dream, I hope
One day I can be like that
Not today
Not tomorrow
Not yesterday
Never
I am not you I cannot have all that you have

Wow, your life must be great
Born more female than I
Your legs are easy to shave

But is all great for all but I?
My brain says no, my chest yes

Sometimes it is better trust your brain, isn’t it?
My life is fine as it is
I needn’t envy others,
I have enough.
Envy and pride are friends.
They feed off one another.
I deserve it.

When is it envy and when is it lust? I cannot tell.
