Poetry?

Poem that I one day felt compelled to write due to my writers block. One must take inspiration from what they can, eh? Also the winner of a first place award at my former High School's Poetry Slam.

I have no idea how to write poetry.

Ooh dear, I've forgotten I want this to rhyme

But what am I to do sitting still as a ... Tree?

My oh my, I've made a rhyme, by God, it sounded like a chime!

And there it is, a good rhythm's going

At this pace there is no sign of slowing!

I could keep this up for hours, am I gloating?

Perhaps I should stop before my ego starts a-bloating!

Like an oven containing rising bread!

Oh no, that was terrible.

More rhymes like that and I can end up dead!

I have an idea: this whole story can be a parable

about a student who attempted to write poetry

And feeling his writing unbearable

Scrapped it like a piece of bad poultry

And because he didn't give up, a work of art about not being able to      work art was born

Containing a moral that one can do great things when they feel torn

And how this student scrapped his new work of art

To start again with a line most notably:

"I have no idea how to write poetry"
