Sheltered lifeA Poem by Alexa Taschthey never let her live so she diedHer mother locked the door barred the windows and unplugged the TV
She couldn't read books or magazines Didn't know what the other kids were talking about and never listened to gossip
Her father never talked about his work Only basic things She lived a sheltered life from the bad things
Until one day On her way to school A white van drove by
It slowed to a stop and opened the door And a man with a mustache was inside
"Hello" he said "would you like some candy? Then come with me!"
And she never heard the bad things She was never taught to say no So she went with the van because she didn't know
When the police found the body Her parents were upset Because they killed her
Because they never let her live and so she died © 2012 Alexa TaschAuthor's Note
