Beautiful Demon

I know the title is cheezy

You beautiful demon

You smirk and you smile

You sing and you dance

And you laugh all the while

 

With the wings of a dove

You pierce my heart with such grace

The pool of my blood

Reflects the scars on my face

 

You're everything I wish to be

And I'm positive that you know

You are my beautiful demon

And even still I love you so

 

You remind me of everything that I'm not

You're proper, calm, and stable

I 'll always try to  be like you

But I can't be a human angel

 

Like some wonderful addictive drug

You're with me even when you're not there

And all of this is because

Is because even demons care

 

 

Author's Note

A poem about someone who I try to be like because they are pretty perfect to. It bitter sweet because while they remind me of what I want to be, I hate not being more like them and I probably won't ever be like them.

yes but Alexa, would you be willing to give up being a Master Poetess? because whatever flaw you detect in yourself is no doubt contributing to your talent in this area.
I only know you through your poetry, and know this, you are loved my dear friend.

So look in that mirror and love that girl who looks back for who she is NOW, not who you might make her into a few years hence. It is a sad thing to look back in life and say... why did I not love myself more then, it would have changed so many things in my life if I had only realized who I really was at the time.
