Ghostly SeasA Poem by Alexa TaschI tried for something dark, but I kept hearing pirates singing in my head....The seas that wash upon the shore Are all dyed pink with bloody gore We fight and fight and fight some more Until we reach the ghostly shore
The seafoam surging like a storm An omen of sirens swimming near Waves are crashing among the rocks And deadly singing we can hear
We're sailing along the poison sea Of sirens tempting us with their songs But an ocean grave is not for me And so we keep on sailing on
Sailing into port one day I met a lass with hair of gold She tried to tell the men my crimes But not a soul was ever told
I added her head to my treasure trove The deck is all stained in red So hoist the jolly roger high And we'll go visit Davy Jones
We've got tight ropes around our necks But here we laugh and drink some more And sing a song of rape and murder As ghosts we'll sail forever more © 2012 Alexa TaschAuthor's Note
