Cracked

Cracked

A Poem by Zolly

I am cracked

Wondering what I lack?
Is it crack?
Not that type of crack, reader?

Go and take a breather

I'm talking about that crack that got your back without asking for it.

I'm talking about that crack without the symptom withdrawal.

I'm talking about that crack that lets you feel safe when bringing down your walls.

I'm not talking about that crack that slaps back too hard.

Where you fall.

I want the crack that got your smile back.
I want that type of crack where you think you found gold in a haystack

I want that type of crack where you don't have to find that one fish in the big pond.

Again, not talking about that crack that makes you feel small.

I need that type of crack when it's like coming back to an old home.

I need that type of crack where it doesn’t make me want to go.

I need that type of crack where I can feel right at home.

Yet, that crack is too cracked, for I am like any old stone.

OK, I had to read it twice to fully understand. Which is actually a good thing. There's a lot going on here above the surface, but underneath those choppy waters lies an old soul (not in years, but in spirit) who just wants to go home (a physical home or mental state of home---either one fits) where its safe and people "got your back". very good work. Nice job!
