A Poem by Zolly
"

Prompt: Imagine a world where only one tree remains. What story does it tell? What emotions does it evoke?

"

Wanderers, here me.

Fir I, never was a pine.

Crumbling onto sparks
Remember the bark
Lovers alone, shadows of bone
Left in the dark
Vividly, there was and is
Timidly, a sight of make believe
Carving and etched
Scarring with tretch
Larva unto stakes
Money out of brakes
Lives not I, but the lakes
Live so I, won’t break
Alarming never to be seen
Never to be green
Fall and winter never to be a theme.
With a flick of light, my memory.

Dare the guy who slay me
Jest the last laugh off to him
The man and his tree
