Cripper

Cripper

A Poem by Zolly
"

Prompt: Write about a memory that suddenly resurfaced and how it shaped you, even if you didn’t realize it at the time.

"

Listen, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh.
A hurried echo of sounds it doesn’t recognize.
Candied and carried through loud and frowned.
Whispers of breath, breeze, and bitter

Ocean scent smelled of turbine and trash

Whoosh, whoosh, freeze

The car turns at the signal

The light turns a fade

Twilight movement through shades

Ushering through change

Thrashing into the braves

Armouring our thunder with lightning

Crashin’ now

Whoosh, bam, whoosh, slam

Is it daylight?
Or is that the sun from light.?

There's a lot going on here. Seems like a dream to me. I frequently will have dreams with many elements merging. This poem reminds me of one interrupted by a storm. I have gained many ideas from the last dream of the night.

It was meant as a compliment. Opens the readers mind to delve into their own meaning.
There could be many interpretations of this poem, but I have three.
One, from a child's perspective of having an abusive parent.
Two, a literal car crash.
Three, waking up from a nightmare.
