Ode to LetheA Poem by Zoe Jay
How desperate does a man have to be
To enter that wilderness alone? What torment drives a soul to those waters? What would make someone seek for Lethe? The path to Lethe is begun in happiness Not anguish or misery or despair Lethe is not sought by the tortured souls For it has nothing to offer them. Lethe is sought by those who know love By people who know what it is to care By those who despair of forgetfulness Souls who know the dark side of softness. Walk by the dark sad waters Watch them go by But take heed and do not drink For the solace of Lethe Is the coldest solace there is. © 2013 Zoe JayFeatured Review
