Insomnia

Insomnia

A Poem by Zoe Jay
"

Insomnia, Sleep, Sleeplessness, Psychedelia, Thoughts, Contemplation, Dreams, Subconscious, Memories, Lows, Demons, Fears

"
The restless night of the unquiet mind
The eternal wail of the uncalm heart
The stirring of the soul in darkness
The fevered tossing of the rising fears
The endless parade of unforgotten shame
The life-movie of our faults and f**k-ups
Playing endlessly through the endless night

And then comes the anger, and then come the wrongs
The procession of the grey, faceless watchers...
The changing of the guard of caged-up foes
The slightings, and the hurts, and the losses,
Made human, and solid, here in your bed ~
Made real, made powerful, here in your head ~
There is no solace, no joy, lost here in
The restless night of the unquiet mind.

A more quiet version than the first.
"And then comes the anger, and then come the wrongs
The procession of the grey, faceless watchers...
The changing of the guard of caged-up foes
The slightings, and the hurts, and the losses,
Made human, and solid, here in your bed ~
Every act good or bad become part of us. Some people are lucky? Forget their negative acts and can find sleep. Most of us over-think deeds done and keep sleep away. Thank yo dear Poet for sharing your excellent poetry.
