Happy Valentine's Day, y'all!

Dearest Heart you came to me

In softest light and starlit sea

With kindled fire your song I sing

And wake to find the breath of dreams

 

White of hair and locks of sand
In love, with great desire, I stand

I sing the moon and by my hand

I reach to you, my Promised Land

 

Tomorrow comes and ebbs the tide

And all the blessed hours ride

I send my love across divide

And wait for your return with pride

 

So it goes and ever on

Years will pass in silent song

We are just two in an endless sea

Lost in love’s possibility

Love has indeed been my white whale. I use water imagery a great deal simply because I love water. I am drawn to it, and not happy unless I am near it. That could be deep and profound, or it could just be because I'm a Pisces. I thank you for finding something deep here, and for taking the time to read. I've found that from time to time I come upon a song or poem that I think is outstanding and the author will say, "I wrote this in a train station on the back of an envelope" or "we wrote this in a hotel room one night in ten minutes". Wherever and whenever the muse visits I think we should be ready to channel that inspiration. I still carry around a pen and a pad. Yes, I'm that old school. ;
