Tea And A Crazy CatA Poem by Zoe RichardsonIn the bleak midwinter of missing youTea and a Crazy
Cat
I look for you In silent places Where the snow
drifts To the frozen
corners all around me
I look for you Where buses stop
and go And a child’s
laugh breaks The winter air
into a million icy moments
I am seeking you
where I stay, safe,
tucked in Waiting for open
doors and footsteps To tell me you are
back where you belong
I draw you to me Hot liquids and
soothing bursts Of yesterday mixed
with Spoonfuls of white
sugar inside and out
I run chasing my
tail The winter trees raise
their arms Away from me as if
they know My tears freeze in
their icy tracks As I stumble
toward an empty house
I look for you in
dreams and Patches of
sunlight The trees are all
turned Backwards now,
waiting
I look for you but
you Are never there. -Zoe Richardson © 2021 Zoe RichardsonAuthor's Note
