Tea And A Crazy Cat

Tea And A Crazy Cat

A Poem by Zoe Richardson
"

In the bleak midwinter of missing you

"

Tea and a Crazy Cat

I look for you

In silent places

Where the snow drifts

To the frozen corners all around me

I look for you

Where buses stop and go

And a child’s laugh breaks

The winter air into a million icy moments

I am seeking you where

I stay, safe, tucked in

Waiting for open doors and footsteps

To tell me you are back where you belong

I draw you to me

Hot liquids and soothing bursts

Of yesterday mixed with

Spoonfuls of white sugar inside and out

I run chasing my tail

The winter trees raise their arms

Away from me as if they know

My tears freeze in their icy tracks

As I stumble toward an empty house

I look for you in dreams and

Patches of sunlight

The trees are all turned

Backwards now, waiting

I look for you but you

Are never there.

Hi Zoe, I can taste the longing in this wonderful piece. Your creativity in the poetic art is always shining. I love the content of this write. You use the metaphor of winter so well in your flowing lines. Another piece that is a joy to read. "I look for you but you are never there," such a wonderful evening. Have a wonderful Saturday. Hugs always....Mike.

You are ever welcome, Zoe. Your pen does run gold. Have a wonderful Monday. Hugs always....Mike.
This is top-notch writing, my friend. I started to levitate, your word crafting is so buoyant. I started to hate you for being one of the top poets at the cafe. I started to want to write like you. But most of all, I got filled completely up with the essence of my best friend who died a few years back (((HUGS)))

Your image of Winter raising bare limbs. Just brilliant. What a strong image to use to pull us in.
