Truth Like A Blanket

Truth Like A Blanket

A Poem by Zoe Richardson
"

When love is like pouring water on a stone

"

Find me I said

And sent the stars spinning

Pulled the trigger on my words

As if bullets could heal

And love raise stones

Save my I begged

As I climbed my mountain

Squeezed the mist for my tears

As if salt was a bridge

And music a stream inside a rock

I watched you wander without redemption

Seeking grace from empty pockets

Neither two nor three nor four

Could sew your anger to the sea

Leave me I whispered

And pulled the shadows tight around me
Like my bruises were a blanket
That shields the night from the rain

Nothing is as lonely as

Knowing you are right

Why, thank you so very much! That is indeed high praise. I'm positively blushing.
Love the metaphors with the bullets, trigger and love raising stone.
As if love can raise one from the proverbial dead.
But when love is abusive, the only love that can maintain is living without the abuser...love of self has to conquer.
