"Running Down The Runway"

"Running Down The Runway"

A Poem by Zoe Anne

“Running Down the Runway”

I’m running around,

I fall to the ground.

I get back up,

And climb the steps.

I stumble onto the stage,

Everyone’s cheering me on like I’m all the rage.

They have bloody cleavers,

So they can cut me up like one of their beavers!

Stop flashing your lights!

This isn’t any ordinary fashion night!

I’m a victim;

I’m not screaming at a whim.

Somebody help me!

They’re going to KILL ME!

As I ran around aimlessly,

I fell carelessly.

They chopped off my arm,

And held it in the air like a charm.

I screamed,

But then my head was creamed.

Everyone cheered on,

Like nothing wrong was done.

What do you know,

I was the star of the show.

My flesh appeared in all the mags,

I guess I wasn’t just a worthless rag.
