"My Haunted Mansion"

"My Haunted Mansion"

A Poem by Zoe Anne

“My Haunted Mansion”

Come inside,

And see Dr. Jekyll turn into Mr. Hyde.

Close your eyes if you must,

For your love of horror is only pure lust.

Go on if you dare,

For the mischievous shadows are everywhere.

Blood drips down from the drapes,

Like the juice from the crushed grapes.

Come look at our ghastly garden,

Then our ghouls will escort you to the den.

It’s recommended that you don’t stand near the black lagoon,

Or else the creature will make you scream like a buffoon.

Hear the lightning crackle,

While Dr Frankenstein does his cackle.

Watch Count Dracula call the children of the night,

And all of them spring into flight.

Listen to the demented music play,

As the Phantom of the Opera sets everyone astray.

Don’t you dare say “Bloody Mary” into the mirror,

Or she will use you for her murderous pleasure.

Watch out for the cursed mummy,

Or he will throw you like a lifeless dummy.

When one comes here for a little scare is to offend,

And once inside there is no chance of coming out again.
