"Rendezvous"

"Rendezvous"

A Poem by Zoe Anne

“Rendezvous”

White roses are painted in red,

You try to revive me from the dead.

You saw my reflection in the mirror,

And decided that I wasn’t much of a terror.

I’ll try to meet you upstairs,

But I’m not sure if I’ll get there.

Bring some wine,

Oh that would be fine.

We could get lost in time,

Oh that would be sublime.

We could gaze at the stars,

And maybe travel to Mars.

Oh but we wouldn’t want to start any wars,

Or to be put behind bars.

Let’s just meet at the horizon,

And find out what line my heart lies on.

My night could turn into day,

And then September could turn into May.

If I forget about my past,

Maybe I won’t go too fast.

I don’t know,

For I am not a doe.

I am a raven,

That knows nothing of a safe haven.

I don’t care if we end up being enemies or friends,

I just want to make amends.

I want this rendezvous,

So it will prevent me from being the tragic fool.
