"The Slope of Hope"

"The Slope of Hope"

A Poem by Zoe Anne

“The Slope of Hope”

My eyes are burning,

My head is hurting,

Why is everything turning,

When everyone is learning?

I can’t stand it,

I think a fire has been lit,

And my brain has taken a hit.

Why is everyone in a fit?

I am so bored,

I think I tripped over a cord,

I don’t think it’s something that I can afford,

Why is everyone going overboard?

I’m trying to find the slope,

But there’s no hope,

All I can do is mope,

Why does everyone think that I’m a dope?

Let’s all go on a tangent!

And find something that is congruent,

To the high-hopes of management,

And take off those shoes made of cement.

It’s rise over run,

Can’t you see that old sun?

I’m not trying to make a pun,

I’m just trying to have fun.
