"Glamour & Disco"

"Glamour & Disco"

A Poem by Zoe Anne

"Glamour & Disco”

I only drink perfume,

There’s only so much that I consume.

You said that I was your mermaid,

But that’s starting to fade.

I wish I could wipe my lipstick all over your face,

But you couldn’t stay in one place.

You didn’t want me anyways,

I guess it wasn’t meant to be just like the plays.

I sit here on my rocking chair,

Telling my stories like an old lady with short hair.

I couldn’t go to bed,

So I painted my nails red.

Thing is my heart will always be black and broken,

Because you couldn’t stop smoking.
