"Road Kill"

"Road Kill"

A Poem by Zoe Anne

"Road Kill"

I'm laying on the side of the road,

Across from me is a dead toad.

It's burnt,

And it's as brown as the dirt.

Cars are flashing by,

They don't know how many toxins are in the sky.

My lungs are burning like hell,

I've been coughing so much that I fell.

I threw up so much blood,

That I've made up my own warm flood.

But then it's all dried up from the heat wave.

I'm just another piece of road kill that no one will save.
