"Pop Heart"

"Pop Heart"

A Poem by Zoe Anne

"Pop Heart"

The synthesizers sound,

And bring the roof to the ground.

My brain and heart were left on the dance floor;

They were crushed and nothing more.

But today, the sun shines,

As my pocket is filled with dimes.

Though I am very wealthy,

I am not so very healthy.

I have a pop heart,

That’s resistant to darts.

I don’t have The Brain,

In which I need The Fame.

My heart may be synthetic,

And my ways may be pathetic,

But my emotions will forever flourish,

Or else my soul will then perish.

Please hear my declaration,

For I will ask you this one question:

“Will you, my priceless treasure,

Give me the pleasure,

Of us, taking to the dance floor,

Just once more?”
