"Cancer Called Love"

"Cancer Called Love"

A Poem by Zoe Anne

"Cancer Called Love"

My heart was already shattered,
Torn and tattered.
When I saw you,
It was mended with glue.
When you were mine,
We made the sun shine.
It was 'You and I'.
But that was a lie.
I inhaled a light scent of cigarette smoke.
Because you treated it like a joke.
My veins are turning black,
My heart is starting to crack.
My lips are chapped and faded;
I feel so outdated...
What can I do,
But just run from you?
My eyes are bleeding,
While our friendship is receding.
I thought it was love,
And I was your turtledove.
But it was cancer,
And I was the raven that lost all of its feathers.

I really like this... like a lot! the title is very catchy along with the content of the poem. I love the comparisons and the descriptive-ness of it... Well done! -Jaz! :)
