My First Love Lost

My First Love Lost

A Poem by Jessica Lewis

Under the willow tree

Where he said we would meet

I waited in

imagination’s

Cold defeat

Under glowing skies

Perfectly unfinished

You stood

Blazing blue eyes

Apart from mine

You were sent

from the divine

as was meant

each movement

another pondering thought

my heart was bought

now it is slave

to life’s highs and lows

I wish you would

Just fade

Ya, you got it! There was so much more there though. I just cant spit it out. Almost too much emotion to really put out there. Well the "divine", my first feelings of "love", still naive, still very young, yet so so real.

I'm not sure what to make from this. It sounds spiteful at the end, as though the subject wanted to forget about the blue eyed man. Something that I may have misinterpreted considering the way he had come to the subject, "from the divine".

Poetry is about an artistic expression of emotions, I believe you accomplished that here ^^.
