Mirrors

Mirrors

A Poem by ZoEL
"

Can you ever see yourself for who you really are?

"

They say people act like mirrors to you.

Your parents are mirrors for your worldview;

Your children are mirrors for your childhood traumas;

Your partners are mirrors for your attachment issues;

Yet isn’t the cliche applicable to your

Mother, son, and husband too?

We are all mirrors,

Reflecting the infinite images of

Infinite Mirrors.

So, what do we see in the end?

Tunnels of

bottomless hollow,

Formed by frames of

rotten metal.

What we see is our-selves in ever greater clarity: the good, the bad, and the ugly, the fears, the mistakes, our worth, and our truest desire as well. In the end, those mirrors will merge into one, and what you see won't be possible to be denied anymore.
