What Was Me

What Was Me

A Poem by zachary<
"

who is your life glorifying.

"

A swan met water with sure anticipation.

Into the sea it reached its final destination.

To bathe its last in this water so clean.

What was me! He cried as he lifted the sky.

he questioned the heavens one last time.

‘What was I What was I that now I must die,

Surrounded by the end with no ability to fly!’

Stained red on his side, wings sunk in the tide…

We thought would our life for one be glorified,

Glorified as the wind pressed softly to our breast,

Glorified as this moment, our one and final test.

Glorified as the world today,

Which woke to proclaim,

The death of us all

And how often we fall.

as did this little swan that day in the sea.

What was me! He cried.

That very day he died.
