Beneath the Stars

Beneath the Stars

A Poem by zachary<
"

true love.

"

May our love be measured only by the eyelashes

that graze my cheek

As I leaned over your body and under the stars.

You were asleep.

And I was to keep You in my arms,

And in my heart,

 The one that you stole…

From those nights.

And countless fights. You saw

Through the dark, and put your mark

On the only light I held

Down deep through the meld.

In my heart that you stole

From those nights.

And my countless freights. You saw

Through the irrational fears

And ocean wide tears. You drank up

never to return again.

Now over your body and under these stars..

Hugged tightly by the grass in this pasture we call

Home sweet home.  I ask..

May our love be measured only by the eyelashes that graze my cheek

Everytime that you speak to me.

beneath the stars.

This was beautiful, the imagery that you portrayed for the reader was amazing. My eyes were literally glued to the screen, nicely done.

Keep writing, always

This is a very beautiful and lovely piece. It so romantic and lyrical. I love how you repeat certain lines. It all seems like a dream based on perfection. I think this portrays love beautifully . Great job! My fave part was:
May our love be measured only by the eyelashes that graze my cheek
Everytime that you speak to me.
beneath the stars.
