Wasn’t born killing other people,

raping our women. Their actions aren’t justifiable.

They deserve Their punishment.

They deserve what’s coming to them.

 

Pure evil only comes by corrupting

Something that is truly good. Life teaches

Us everything and life teaches us pure evil.

We are trapped in this cursed place, without

No plan to escape. The dead are free, the

Living are enslaved. Cursed.

 

Live. Evil. The slightest reverse of the

Word ‘live’ explains it all. Live? Be evil.

We are embedded to sin. How can a

One day old child die? That is through

Life and the unliftable curse of it corrupting

A child. Something, someone truly good.

what makes people turn bad? hard to know....many blame it on parentage and having rough childhoods, but so many do and turn out okay....young people are impressionable that is true...but i guess we can question whether evil is innate or not---
are we born with it inside...and for some it rears its ugly head, and for others it does not?

For me evil is something life teaches us but it is up to us if we embrace that evil or shove it down inside.

I found it very stunning to realize for the first time that "live" is "evil" backwards! Your poem is very thought-provoking & I like that you aren't really coming to conclusions, since everyone has widely differing opinions on this topic. I believe most people have some evil as a basic aspect of human nature, everyone is somewhere on the continuum, but this evil can be pushed down & that's what makes us seemingly "civilized" as we consider ourselves "above" animals. What a great piece of poetry Zipho_D and so true. I agree totally with Jacobs comment below. How do we really know if evil i innate or not? But children are impressionable and easy lead, and this world is far from good at times. Every day some type of badness is constantly happening in and around us. No matter or age or where we live or background. Many questions, thoughts and means come to my mind on this topic along. A wonderful poem that makes think and question a lot of things. bless you, for sharing your thoughts.

I certainly fully understand and see where you're coming from in this poem. Life is, indeed, intriguing with good and evil side by side. I sincerely believe no one is born evil. However, ignorance in the child's immediate home, during his/her early upbringing, can imprint certain characteristics and attributes, positive and negative, that would impact on their fully mature character and habits.
That is why as adults we all, since we are well aware of good and evil, must exercise greater wisdom in what we do and say and say around a child. We must be positive at all times. Yes, children can be disciplined by our good examples. Because we are the children of yesterday who now know better and should do better for the little ones.
