Breathing Alone

Breathing Alone

A Poem by Md. Ziaul Haque

I wish you were,

With me right here,

Staring at my eyes,

With endless pleasing sighs.

Distance can’t part us; does it have any right?

My breath through the invisible-bridge reaching you every night,

Thank God! Donne’s thought revives me always,

Never allowing me to give in to sadness.

Even if for a short time I’m breathing alone,

My heartbeats indicate you being the healer I must depend on.
