FriendshipA Poem by Md. Ziaul HaqueDefining friendshipRight after the birth, the chain of relationships starts on, Friendship being the one sweet correlation, Teaches us to do the undone, to dream the undreamt, So special a tie that knows no contempt.
Friendship lets the true friends share almost everything, A healthy process to get of earthly tension’s string, This is so important that the bridge of minds keeps insisting on to meet up, At the park, on the rooftop, at campus, or by the boulevard with a warm tea cup.
The tea-vapour is thrilled mingling with the air, the stomachs get filled with snacks, Time is half-dead, defied by the chattering mouths; a restless one abruptly smacks, Another gestures to go home, But the sweet chaos erects a blissful dome turning the place into an archaic Rome.
At the end of the day, time more often than not is the winner, Becomes successful to separate the friends momentarily in its own manner, Their meeting becomes stale but the sweet memories are ever fresh, Helping to understand one another and acting like grain that none can thresh.
Every now and then, friendship gives birth to courage, Rushing out and touching all those are involved regardless of space and age, Separation short-lived or in the form of death appears with a pointed spike, The hearts mirror the feeling as Tennyson’s psyche cried after death’s strike. © 2014 Md.
