Indecencies Of The MindA Poem by ZhavySpoken Words From A Thoughtful PenI’d give you a piece of mind But sorry it weighs a ton I might hold a peace sign But I’m equipped with a gun Too minor to make a difference But I’m chilling enough Time to put my foot down Enough is enough A diamond in the rough Losing its luster Wish I could muster the strength But it hurts Engraving pain within the verse These words deserve a Hearst The worst just serve the church In search of happiness What’s happening? Grappling challenging thoughts Channeling everything that I’ve been taught You I remember But it seems me you forgot What’s another Black teen shot? But a stale routine to cops? Statistics of the block Another victim of the cross & a child’s dreams lost Exhausting every resource Seeking recourse of reaction to every action Lack of satisfaction in the pleasantries Note that happiness is sold separately Desperately in search of remedies Dissecting through destiny I realize just how much you meant to me & now I realize that it’s you If it’s true to the heart Then the mind will follow suit Wasted time is quick sand I need to make a move Distantly delusional depicting illusions Creating confusion dissecting conclusions & connecting beginnings © 2018 ZhavyAuthor's Note
