Perpetuating PhosphenesA Poem by ZhavyRubbing Sleep From My Eye Seeing What's Not Really ThereStuck in-between hallucination & a dream Baby tell me what you see I’m not too sure what it means I just can’t believe That you would ever leave Pain you can see tattooed on my sleeve Settled in these leaves But the high isn’t free Smoking too much weed Thought the problem was me But really it was you Years gave me two I still don’t know what to do I need help from above And I only think of you Should’ve gave you truth Thought the love would make it true Thought I’d always heal your blues Now there’s a different tune Influenced by the juice Recognize what I say It’ll show you how I do My love ain’t meant to use I’m sure you’ll learn about your dues Writing songs just for you When I haven’t heard from you She’s supposed to be my boo On the move with different dudes Being outside the loop Has only let these feelings loose Always thought that I’d lose So why am I fighting for the win? Love hit me to the chin I haven’t seen the same since Loss of a sense Flower bomb with new scent But I hope its old sense That’s just my two cents Can’t just be your friend Need a name without an end Need you like my pen You’re someone I depend But that doesn’t change message sent To her I’m pretend So like a make believe friend Its only love I send © 2018 ZhavyAuthor's Note
