Allegory Of Zhavy

Allegory Of Zhavy

A Poem by Zhavy
"

A Modern Day Plato Contemplating Life As A Slave

"
Its here I find myself
Just another man in the cave
Blinded by darkness
And frightened by light
Threatened by destiny
To never use my god given gift of sight
Living in ignorance
With no sense of wrong or right
Constantly under the shroud of night
Is the only thing true of my life
Talk of day is only here say
As no one’s ever seen another way
Who is to blame?
In a place man lacks an identity even a name?
Who’s responsible for the shame?
Of calling a once wild beast docile and tame?

I just read a quote that reminds me of your poem ... 'A sign of intelligence is awareness of one's own ignorance' Nicollo Machiavelli :)
it came to mind as soon as I read it - quite apt. You are only a slave if that's what you believe ... :)

Yes sir just trying to spread the word of the light outside, too long I've been living in the dark
This has a wonderful rhythm - a constant tempo that is exciting and I enjoyed it. I would, if I was in charge of the world, lose some of the wordiness. But, you are the master of your work, not me, so good on you . Thanks for sharing.
