Chapter 6A Chapter by Keevan"So, tell us something about you," Alphonse said. He had dragged Edward and I to a statue of some kind that was a little ways away from Central Command. Edward grumbled something, and I smacked him upside the head. "Hey! Don't bully me!" he shouted. I shrugged and dragged on my cigarette. Alphonse was the suit of armor from my dream. I was hesitating to ask if there was anyone inside the armor, which I knew there wasn't. "My name is Lucy, I'm an assassin, I joined when I was fourteen, and that's all you need to know," I said. "Well, my name is Alphonse Elric," Alphonse said, trying to ignore his brother's grumbling. "I'm an alchemist, though I'm not state certified. I'm Edward's younger brother. It's nice to meet you, Lucy." "Your turn, midget," I said as I dropped my cigarette on the ground and stepped on it. Edward stiffened, got angry, and stood up as his brother grabbed his arms. Edward was kicking his legs shouting, "WHO ARE YOU CALLING A GUY SO SHORT YOU CAN ONLY SEE HIM WITH A MAGNIFYING GLASS?! I'M STILL GROWING YOU JERK!" I sighed and stood up. "You don't scare me, Fullmetal," I said. Alphonse released his brother, and Edward shouted, "I said don't call me Fullmetal!" "Don't think I want to be friends," I said, not looking at him or Alphonse. "This is strictly military, not a group of kids aiming to hang out. I will address you as if I were a military official." "Geez, what's up your butt?" Edward asked sarcastically. "You talk as if you're in your forties!" "That's the price of being a fourteen year in the military," I said without thinking. "You grow up." When you're a fourteen year old in the military, you don't act as a fourteen year old unless you want to be killed, hit, fired, or all three. "So you never got the luxury of being a fourteen year old girl," Edward said as he waved his hands in the air "dramatically". "Big whoop." "It's not just that," I said, my voice low. "I don't even know who I am. All I remember is Human Transmutation, and waking up in a bright room." "Wait a minute, you did a Human Transmutation and kept your limbs?" Alphonse said amazed. "Does that mean you succeeded?" "Tell us what you did!" Edward said as he gripped my sleeve. I pushed him away and said, "Sorry, can't tell you. It failed, and what I gave for equivalent exchange were seven years worth of memories. I don't know what I gained, and I'm not sure all of what I lost. I don't know if I have family, I don't know who I tried to bring back, and I don't even think I knew alchemy when I did the transmutation." The boys were silent. I took out another cigarette and lit it. The radio in my pocket went off. "Repeat that," I said as I pushed the button. I held it to my ear and heard the colonel say, "I need to ask you some things about your report. Get over here immediately." "Copy that," I said. I shoved the radio back in my pocket and said, "Later, losers. Gotta go talk to Colonel Sarcasm." © 2011 KeevanReviews
