Hymn to the EmptyA Poem by Michael William FowlerOne of the first pieces of writing i posted here, and still most likely my favorite.
A sanctuary, Starlit and secluded, Where you sing a nocturne of nothing A reminder of how empty, emptiness really is Singing a hymn of broken memories You immerse yourself within the inverse of love Your heart but a silhouette And your soul, swollen and swallowed whole By sorrow, You will always remain here. Singing your sweet nocturne of nothing, Though he will not hear, or heed Or care, Sing your nocturne of emptiness. To him, To nothing, Michael William Fowler © © 2008 Michael William Fowler |
