A Passing WhisperA Poem by zer0A free verse poem.
Quickly eroding the insipid edges of his sanity
Slow motion coiling into a downward spiral
A lair of blackened hearts and broken dreams Where suicidal angels sing a chorus of perdition
And shadows twist and turn beneath the dying light
Here he sits and bleeds for you, you’ll never know He carves his wrist in perfect form, the shape of hearts
As uncaringly your body writhes in timely mirth to
The mind numbingly repetitive pounding, apertures
Of suffocating daylight and insincere sun burnt eyes
The bright light of rehearsed parts: remembered maps Blinds him with its iridescent glow, piercing through
His labyrinth home of dark and cold, of falling hard
Into the dirt with broken nails and blood soaked hands
Where only fleeting ghosts will haunt in slow dramatics
And tease him with a passing whisper:
“I love you too”
